They responded that since this happened prior to April 15th it was not in violation of HIPAA and if I had any questions to contact CA.
I called equifax about it, and they said that they all showed up there as included in bankruptcy, which automatically meant closed.
Also, you'd think that if they are in cahoots, they'd be a little more on the ball when it comes to marking accounts as disputed!

What a nightmare! Keepmine gave you excellent advice, as always. Do not send these bozos anything - it will be used against you - they just want money, it doesn't matter to them whether this debt is your husband's or not. Don't deal with them over the phone - everything in writing, or not at all, no matter what they tell you. They lie a lot. Just keep repeating that when they call you - "send it to me in writing."
Just the owed balance,taxes, etc., or maybe more as I would have no idea who would be there to bid.
